'good evening mr carter, miss mckade,' andy greeted with an unusual air of formality.
'evenin' andy.' nick nodded.
'good evening, mr proddick,' chloe grinned.
'i'd prefer it if you'd call me andy, miss mckade.' andy replied with a hint of being disgruntled.
'andy.' chloe replied, grinning more broadly than ever.
god, she looked good. even in plain jeans, she looked good enough to eat. nick thought to himself. if she won't stop grinning, my legs aren't gonna work.
'so, have you decided where you're going to have your meal, mr carter?' andy asked.
'i thought 'the crust' would be a suitable place for a casual dinner, andy. what d'you think?' nick replied, trying not to look at chloe too much.
'excellent choice, mr carter. and may i ask if miss mckade has any objections to it?' andy turned to chloe.
'no, pizza's fine with me. in fact, i totally love pizzas,' chloe replied, with enthusiasm.
'really? alot of my ex girlfriends who totally hate pizza. they think it's fat food.' nick said, mentally slapping himself for talking about his ex girlfriends.
basic dating rule #1: NEVER EVER talk about your ex(s) during dates, unless they ask you about it.
'i don't care, pizza's real good, and i think that you should enjoy life as much as possible. besides, i have a high metabolism.' chloe laughed.
nick was relieved that she didn't actually care about him talking about his ex girlfriends and that the elevator door opened then, and andy held the door open for them.
'the crust' turned out to be a homely place, whose owner is a middle aged robust italian man. he greeted nick warmly, as if welcoming home a long lost son.
'nick! you've finally decided to come visit me! where have you been these few days eh? i heard you were in new york, and i waited for you day and night. you come only now?'
'sorry, mr cannavaro. i was kinda busy. this is chloe,' nick's gaze directed at chloe, pointing her out to mr cannavaro.
'nice to meet you, mr cannavaro.' chloe greeted politely.
'heheh... so nicky has a new girlfriend! no wonder he no come visit old mr cannavaro! come in! come in! i make my special pizza for you loving young people! and you too! andy my man!' mr cannavaro ushered them into the private room in the restaurant.
